For 25 years we are manufacturing high-quality astronomical filters, trusted by both amateur stargazers and professional institutions like ESO and NASA. Our commitment to quality and innovation has made Astronomik a leader in the industry. Our products have already set many new standards in observation and astrophotography.

In the year 2000, Eric-Sven Vesting and Gerd Neumann were sitting in a water tower in Hamburg, Germany, pondering how to produce high-quality and affordable filters for astronomy. The filters which were available on the market at this time were either extremely expensive or of poor quality. What started as a garage project for UHC and RGB filters has, within a few years, grown into a brand, appreciated and used worldwide by stargazers and professional astronomers alike.

Unmatched quality and durability

Astronomik filters are produced in Germany, using high precision optically polished glass substrates and up to 170 ultra-thin interference coatings that serve as both the actual filter and an anti-reflection coating. This technology ensures stars remain pinpoint-sharp. It also makes our filters exceptionally scratch and moisture resistant and built to last - which is why every filter has a 10-year warranty.
